Engineering Department

The Engineering Department is responsible for planning and implementation of improvements to the City's streets, sanitary and storm sewers, bridges, street lighting and traffic controls.

The department employs professional and technical staff members who provide analysis, design, administration and inspection of the construction of the improvements to assure quality construction in accordance with standards and specifications. All subdivision development plans are also reviewed and the installation of the sewers, streets and grading work are inspected.

City maps and records of public improvements are kept by the department.

All work within the City right-of-way is to be approved by the Engineering Department. This includes new or reconstructed driveways, sidewalks, sump pump drainage connections and sanitary sewer service replacements or extensions.
